Fond memories. I had the privilege of watching this race from the grandstand at the start/finish line. The racing was spectacular and before the GP there was a group of Ferrari FXX cars giving me multiple eargasms as they raced round the track.

The whole idea of these races was SO odd...but I love it! Wish it could be brought back

I watched the race today and as here on the video, why these guys don't let the times, the clock counting the lap? Even in the race the television don't show anything. It's pretty bad, the cars are going well and fast, would be nice know more frequent.

The irony is now in 2024 that indycar is currently everything Tony George broke away from in the first place!

I’ve got a new appreciation for the previous-gen IndyCar watching all these 2011 Will Power onboards. Nice pointy front end, N/A V8 sound (not that there’s too much wrong with the 2.2 turbos) and it even looks better without Leigh Diffey shouting over every single second of footage 🤣

No breaking reference, you can see the apex of the curve when you are already in it! So dificult 😮 Lovely V8 sound, manual gear box, what a era!

The original Degner curve 🤩 Suzuka has such an excepcional flow in its layout, but especially on its original form. John Hugenholtz mastery at design. It would be a dream of mine to see what the OG track (the last curve as it was, this Degner curve, the old 130R) could bring with current cars/bikes, adding all the necessary safety measures (runoff areas, tecpro barriers, etc).

Tahnk you for sharing this. I have captured this race back in the day in even better quality. That was some effort back then! John Watson drove a lap in the car and commented on it from the car. Legend! A1GP certainly had a few things very right with cars and commentary. Up until then. And commentary didnt change...
